1. The CORE service
CORE Family Hub is a beta household-organization service for shared displays, tablets, phones, and computers. It may include calendars, chores, rewards, groceries, recipes, lists, whiteboards, household records, optional AI, optional smart-home and grocery integrations, and the moderated CORE Community Cookbook. The hosted service is currently provided free of charge for personal and household use. Wacky Engineering may introduce limits or paid offerings later only on prospective notice; continued use of a paid offering would require the displayed purchase or subscription terms. These Terms apply to the hosted service at core.wackyengineering.com and official preview environments. Separately operated or self-hosted deployments may have different terms.
2. Eligibility and household authority
Every person with an individual CORE sign-in account must be an adult who is at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where they live. Only an adult may establish a household, accept these Terms for a household, manage accounts, submit Community content, or configure integrations. Children and teens may use adult-managed family profiles and supervised shared-display access, but may not create or receive individual sign-in accounts.
The household owner is responsible for invitations, roles, managed profiles, shared displays, adult PINs, configured integrations, and content entered by household members. Everyone with access to a shared display may see and change unprotected household content.
3. Accounts and security
Provide accurate account information and take reasonable steps to secure shared displays, account credentials, adult PINs, multi-factor authentication methods, API keys, provider accounts, and logged-in devices. Promptly remove lost devices, unused displays, and accounts that should no longer have access. Do not share a personal account as a substitute for a dedicated shared-display identity. Notify Wacky Engineering promptly if an account, household, device, credential, or integration may be compromised.
4. Household content and permission to operate CORE
You retain ownership of content you create in your private household workspace. You grant Wacky Engineering a non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit, display, back up, and otherwise use that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, maintain, and improve CORE's reliability and comply with law. You represent that you have the rights and household authority needed to provide the content.
Household content is not made available to unrelated households unless an authorized adult intentionally uses a feature that does so, such as submitting an approved recipe snapshot under the separate Community Contribution Terms.
The Privacy Policy explains the limited operational circumstances in which authorized Wacky Engineering personnel and service providers with privileged system access may technically access household information.
5. Sensitive and regulated information
CORE is intended for ordinary household organization. Do not use CORE as a system of record for Social Security numbers, government identification, payment-card or bank credentials, tax records, passwords or private authentication keys, detailed medical or clinical records, legal-privileged documents, intimate images, surveillance recordings, or other highly sensitive or regulated information. Supported third-party credentials should be entered only through the designated integration controls.
Ordinary household context—such as an appointment title, allergy, food preference, or medication reminder—is permitted, but CORE is not a medical-record system.
CORE is not offered as a HIPAA, GLBA, PCI, financial, clinical, legal-record, emergency, or life-safety system. You are responsible for maintaining separate systems, professional advice, native controls, and records where legal compliance, safety, or specialized handling is required.
6. Community contributions
The CORE Community Cookbook is disabled by default and is not required to use the private household cookbook. A household owner or adult may enable or disable Community access for the household. When enabled, Community submission is voluntary, unpaid, adult-only, pseudonymous, and moderated. A submission is an independent snapshot; later private edits do not update it. Approved content can be viewed and copied into other participating signed-in CORE households. Withdrawal stops new discovery and imports, but copies already imported cannot be recalled. Revisions require new submission and approval. Users may report listings and block contributors. Additional representations and license terms appear in the Community Contribution Terms and must be accepted at submission.
7. Optional AI
AI features are optional and require an approved configuration. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, or unsuitable. Review it before relying on or sharing it. AI is not professional medical, legal, financial, educational, nutritional, safety, or emergency advice. You are responsible for prompts, generated content, and any API key or provider account you connect. CORE may require confirmation or block sensitive actions even when AI suggests them. Signed-in users can report a particular AI response for private safety and quality review.
8. Smart-home and external integrations
Home Assistant and other integrations can affect physical devices, access, temperature, lighting, appliances, and household routines. CORE is not a life-safety, security, medical, fire, environmental, or emergency-control system. Do not rely on it for alarms, locks, HVAC limits, accessibility needs, supervision, or any action where delay, error, loss of connectivity, or unintended execution could cause harm. Maintain native controls and safety devices and verify important commands.
Third-party services—including Supabase, Vercel, Google Gemini, Home Assistant, Kroger/Dillons, weather, holiday, and push services—have their own terms, privacy practices, availability, and limits. Wacky Engineering does not control those services and may change or discontinue an integration if access, terms, security, or technical requirements change.
9. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Access another household, account, display, integration, or data without authorization.
- Bypass access controls, probe for vulnerabilities without written permission, interfere with service operation, or misuse API keys, pairing codes, or invitations.
- Upload malware, unlawful content, personal data you lack authority to use, or content that infringes privacy, copyright, trademark, publicity, or other rights.
- Store prohibited high-risk or regulated records or bypass designated integration controls to store credentials.
- Use CORE to harass, exploit, endanger, shame, or unlawfully monitor a child or another person.
- Automate excessive requests, scrape the Community catalog, resell the hosted service, or use it to train a model without written permission.
- Misrepresent identity, Community attribution, ratings, ownership, or permission to submit content.
10. Beta service, changes, and availability
CORE is in beta. Features, data models, integrations, limits, and interfaces may change. Wacky Engineering may correct, limit, suspend, or discontinue a feature or the service; remove unsafe, unlawful, or unapproved content; and perform maintenance. Reasonable efforts will be made to protect household data and communicate material changes, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not promised. Keep independent copies of information that is important to your household.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using CORE and permanently delete your individual adult account from Settings → Account Security. If another adult remains, ownership is transferred or the account leaves the household. Deleting the household's last adult also deletes the household and its private data. You may also request account or household deletion through Wacky Engineering. Wacky Engineering may restrict or terminate access for material Terms violations, security threats, unlawful activity, provider requirements, or service discontinuation. Where practical, notice and a reasonable opportunity to export or correct an issue will be provided. Some records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy, and independent Community imports remain with importing households.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CORE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WACKY ENGINEERING DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE. WACKY ENGINEERING DOES NOT WARRANT THAT DATA, AI OUTPUT, WEATHER, SCHEDULES, RECIPES, NUTRITION INFORMATION, NOTIFICATIONS, DEVICE STATE, OR COMMANDS ARE ACCURATE, SAFE, COMPLETE, TIMELY, OR AVAILABLE.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WACKY ENGINEERING WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, PROFITS, HOUSEHOLD PROPERTY, OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICE ACCESS ARISING FROM CORE. WACKY ENGINEERING'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE HOSTED CORE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US$100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID WACKY ENGINEERING FOR CORE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
14. Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kansas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles and without overriding consumer protections that cannot be waived. Before filing a claim, contact Wacky Engineering and allow 30 days for an informal resolution. Nothing in these Terms prevents a report to a regulator or use of a forum or remedy that applicable law guarantees.
15. Changes, electronic notice, and general terms
Material changes will receive a new version and normal accounts will be asked to accept the current Terms and acknowledge the current Privacy Policy. Notices may be delivered in CORE or to the account email. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms or a household account without permission; Wacky Engineering may transfer them with a business transaction subject to law and the Privacy Policy.
